I can almost imagine the story.

“Happy Birthday to you”

a dozen or so of Billy’s family had all come for his birthday. unsurprisingly they were all women, today was a special day after all.

for them. For Billy it was one he’d been dreading for years.

”Happy Birthday to you”

he tried to struggle. but his mother had made sure he’d been perfectly snug in his seat.

itd be a dream come true if not for the terror at the end of the table.

”Happy birthday dear Billy!”

the plate was set down. Billy looked up at the smug grin of his sister. Of course she would be. she’s decided his birthday gift.

”Happy birthday to you!”

cheers rolled around the table. Eyes full of mirth and joy for what was to happen. Billy struggled all he could, but it was pointless.

”Well Billy?” His sister sneered. “Won’t you make a wish?”

he looked at the candle. Before the size of his finger now three times his height.

“Huh, you can’t reach it can you? Don’t worry. You’re bigger sister knows just the wish.” She stuck out her tongue and quickly blew out the candle.

”Did you make a good wish Edith?” His mother asked.

”Sure did mom! see I was pretty hungry. And I wanted something to go with this really sweet birthday cake.”

the fork came down before Billy knew what happened. It pierced through his leg, dragging him up to the cavernous maw that was his sister.

”And brothers make the best toppings.”
